FAMILY-CENTERED REGULATORY THERAPIST TRAINING

Here’s what others had to say about a past training

“I have been a licensed psychologist for 15 years and this has been the most profound and meaningful experience of my entire career. I have learned more about myself in the last three days than anything else. I am leaving this experience with greater self-awareness and confidence. In addition I am leaving with a new paradigm that will enhance my skills as a clinician. Lastly, I am leaving here feeling more whole.” ---D.H.

“This was an amazing experience. I typically work with my clients on a more cognitive level. After this workshop I feel equipped to work at the core. Also the practice building component of the seminar was a real treat.” ---P.H.

“This is the most amazing seminar that I have ever attended and I have been attending them for years! It helped me get back to me. I don’t know of the words that can express how wonderful this experience has been.” ---L.L.

"The bootcamp experience was wonderful!  My fellow campers were awesome, and you were a blessing!  Not only did I expand my professional skills but I had an opportunity to take a close look at myself!  Something I don't spend enough time doing!

I hope that in the future more therapists will take advantage of your expertise so that your message can be passed on to families who need to heal.  Your work is much needed. As for where I go from here....look for me at your master training.”---L.D.

“As a pre-doc intern, I found Dr. Post's training to be an especially useful blend of theory, demonstration and personal hands-on experience. His Stress Model beautifully integrates the latest research in psychoneurobiology with Attachment Theory and brings it all into the everyday reality of helping families and children to heal.”---M.B.

“I found the boot camp to be a wonderful experience.  Thank you for giving me the opportunity to participate I gained insights and new confidence in my own perception and power, and learned even more about what I have to learn and to give.  You are a much needed pillar within this community and I admire your efforts to share your insights.  I very much wish to be part of this revolution for families and would like to partner with you to increase its power.”---S.M

“I loved how much this puts me back in touch with the things that I knew but was not using with my own family.  Dr. Post is walking with God and letting him show the way for the rest of us Thank You God and Dr. Bryan Post.”—L.J.

“The presentation provided the insight to help me effectively provide services for the population I work with.  It has influenced me to immediately view/monitor my own fears and to recognize/focus on the clients fears.  A lot of questions were answered today, especially those on medication issues.”—D.S.

"I’ve been getting CEU’s for 20 years.  Your presentation ranks in the top 5 I’ve ever attended (rivals Ellis, Glasser, etc).  What a genuine, real, fine presenter you are.  I hope the Dept of Mental Health will hire you for the Donahue lecture series. All the foster care agencies need your presentation.  You use your A-V materials exquisitely.  One of the most beautifully orchestrated presentations I have ever attended.  Allowed us to ask questions/comments in  just the right amounts.”—L.G.

Dear Dr. Post,

It is with great pleasure that I tell you about my positive and virtually life-changing experience because of the Therapist’s Boot Camp.  While I went with reluctance and fear (I also had a couple of friends standing by who were willing to rescue me at a moment’s notice); I am grateful that I attended.  I was frustrated that children in foster homes under my charge were not getting better—they were cared for and safe; however, they weren’t healing.  So, as I searched for answers, I went to the boot camp.  I felt that the journey started with me, because I felt that I couldn’t ask my foster parents or staff to do something that I wasn’t willing to do.  I then saw that my own fears could keep me stuck professionally and personally.

Since I worked through my apprehensions and stuck it out, the results were extraordinary, particularly in three different domains.  Let me explain.  Trained as a clinician, I am also a program administrator and the boot camp’s effects reached into the various roles I play.  First, as a therapist, the skills and insight gained through the boot camp process equipped me to go along with the clients in their journeys. I realized that I am able to stay regulated, thus I can model this for the foster parents.  I work with foster parents so I am able to train and support them as they work with the children placed in their homes—particularly the children with challenging behaviors and we can work toward healing.

Secondly, the boot camp gave me a whole new perspective on supervision of staff members.  I bring something new to that equation as well.  I am able to be there and support staff as they identify their fears and work toward regulation.  It is amazing to see the ‘aha’ moments that surface and I am so privileged to be part of this process.  Things begin to move when we break through those barriers.

Thirdly, this entire process challenged me in my personal life.  As a wife, friend, parent, and recently, a grandparent, I find multitudes of opportunities for conflict or misunderstanding.  Since I understand my fears and am focused on my own regulation, I can bring more of myself to these relationships.  I’m learning about the concepts of integration as opposed to resolution.  I’m one of those individuals who is very cognitive in my approach so always felt that I had to have all things resolved, how freeing it is to understand that I can integrate my past, my hurts, my fears, without having it “all together”.  Wow, what a concept!  Hopefully, those around me will see that I know life is not “all about me”—and what I need, want, and fear; rather, it is about them.  As I implement these concepts, I see my relationships taking the shape of what I’ve always wanted a relationship to be and that is a blessing.  I am seeing the integration of my mind, body, and spirit.

So, as you can see, Dr. Post, I got more than I paid for by attending your boot camp and can’t wait to go to the advanced therapist boot camp.  I am trying to impart these truths to others who are in my sphere of influence.  Thank you for letting me into your sphere.
