ABOUT DR. POST
Biographical Statement:
B. Bryan Post, PhD, LCSW, a specialist in the treatment of attachment and trauma in children and families, is the founder of the Post Institute for Family-Centered Therapy based in Oklahoma, and co-founder of the Beyond Consequences Institute based in Orlando, Florida. He is the author of For All Things A Season, How to Heal the Attachment Challenged Child, co-author of The Forever Child series, Beyond Consequences, Logic and Control and more than 20 additional DVD, audio, and book titles. An internationally recognized specialist in the treatment of emotional and behavioral disturbances in children and families, Dr. Post specializes in a holistic family-based treatment approach that addresses the underlying interactive dynamics of the entire family, a neurophysiologic process he refers to as, “The secret life of the family.”
An adopted, and well-known disruptive child himself (“I’ve set fires, killed animals, and stolen compulsively. There is great benefit in learning through the painful lessons of others.”), Dr. Post’s has made it his primary work to speak to parents and professionals from a perspective of true-life experience, and in the ‘trenches’ therapeutic work.
Dr. Post has lectured and provided expert consultation regarding adoption, trauma, attachment and bonding, throughout the United States and abroad. The family-centered principles and concepts offered by Dr. Post have been taught to more than 25,000 parents and professionals with a 98% excellency rating.
He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Oklahoma and is registered to practice within various other states. He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the International Center for the Study of Psychiatry and Psychology (ISCPP), and a Diplomate of the American Psychotherapy
Association.
